Debbie Cullis was inspired by Kevin's article saying: 'I live on the Outer Hebrides and am inspired by the Atlantic sea crashing up waves. After painting this scene in pastel, I had an idea to use acrylics and oils on tweed, the roots of Harris Tweed off the Isle of Harris. I 'painted' distant Islands and sea rolling in by sewing strips of tweed, hand-painted paper and holographic paper with a zig zag machining. I underpinned the scene with acrylic paint then glued down the pieces with PVA'
