Glyn Macey 60-minute challenge 1 - Sennen Cove

I'm loving the confident, vigorous mark making Thalia, particularly in the sky and foreshore. Your use of brush stroke direction to follow the plane of the elements is also excellent, the cliffs especially. PS I'm more than a little envious of the fact that you get to paint plein air except when it's too hot! Hee hee!

Thalia Stones sent in this version of Glyn's challenge saying: 'This is a picture painted plein air in response to Glyn’s 1hour challenge in the January issue of The Artist. I live on Gozo, a tiny sister island to Malta. The bay is called Xwejni Bay (pronounced shwaynee). It took me 57 mins in total, using three colours plus white, Prussian blue, raw sienna and burnt umber. I paint mostly plein air except when it’s too hot here and really enjoyed doing this, though I only usually paint in oils over here!'
