Terry Carter sent in his painting saying: 'I followed the suggestions regarding the quality and weight of watercolour paper and made certain I had a damp sponge to hand to enable me to modulate the tones - particularly in the shadow areas. To create additional interest, I suggested distant buildings and also found the 'Soft Edges' technique worked well and suited the composition and subject matter. Apart from the recommended colours, I also used Gouache white particularly for the 'drag' textures'
