Could done without the history lesson, just get on with the tutorial. No, the view isn't stunnning, pretty boriing actually. Pic painted in the' tutorial?' is rather good

ermmm? thanks, I think???

Watcha Glyn, congrats on your Sky TV news and the Japanese connection, excellent. Thanks are appropriate if you want to tank re - the vid, I had a look at the vid with a view to painting insttruction, not a history lesson, i can get that elswhere, and not being told how attractive you find the scene, I can make up my own mind about that; however your work and interpretation of the scene was excellent. best Mick

i like this Gly - and disagree with previous comment. I think the history is important, to understand and "connect" with the subject. However, from the trailer, i would have to agree it was less tutorial and more demo. One of the most flustrating things about tutorial dvds is the artist will start to paint, the camera cuts away, and when it returns, the painting has leapt forward - and the viewer has no idea how they got there! I don't want to see every brushstrokeof course, but the relevent and sometimes intricate techniques are surely the point of any tutorial dvd? It's not "look how good I am". Little wonder that we often hear "oh, I'll never be able to paint that well". Yes you can - if someone will just show you how!
