Janet Gledhill sent in her version of Paul's exercise saying: 'The set monthly challenge, was done on the back of an old watercolour. I set the building lower in the painting than the photo, first loosely washing pale yellow ochre with added flow improver over most of the painting. The building was painted with alizoren crimson darkened in areas when dry I covered it in white paint scratching some of it back. I used quick energetic brush marks and splattering, adding black in the foreground.'
