This is a popular challenge and many goes at it, getting better like this all the time.

A lovely rendition of the photograph - the variety of colour in the grass is excellent.

Ian Stevenson sent in his version of Paul's exercise saying: “I painted the painting using “Interactive Atilier Acrylics as these acrylics allow such flexibility of blending and covering power balanced by a fine creamy consistency. My painting follows the photo although I have moved and refined the trees and their locations to improve composition. I have also omitted the pole as this seemed to ‘cut’ the middle distance into thirds detracting from the right hand tree. Painted onto a 50 x 50 cm. box canvas I firstly covered the canvas in orange/red mix so I could enjoy a strong complementary base to the predominance of bright green. This helps the painting to ‘sing’. I used conventional acrylic brushes as well as linear painting using the edge of a pallet knife for detail marks”.
