PTG Exercise 2 - Shadows on a Path by Painters-Online Team
Jane Young sent in her version of Paul's exercise saying: 'I decided to alter the composition slightly by angling the gate and trees to make the picture look more alive. I put on a bright yellow ground using a cloth in vigorous diagonal movements, to emphasise the lay of the land. In the foreground I applied paint with the tips of a flat brush, and then scraped through with the tip of a palette knife to give texture, and for the colour underneath to show through'
