PTG Exercise 2 - Shadows on a Path

I picked this out to be a Alan Bigley before I read the write up it is so Alan

Alan Bickley does some smashing work in here so this is one that certainly will knock mine off when it's published by Dawn next week.

I'd recognise that shade of red anywhere Alan! I would think this wasn't easy to do, it's am uch smaller size than you are use to, but still effective, your style never disappoints.

Great painting Alan. Love the colours. I too will have another go at my leisure

I always admire anyone who can but a green sky in a painting and make it work! David Auld.

Thanks indeed.

Alan Bickley sent in his version of Paul's second exercise saying: 'Always one to enjoy these exercises, I scaled down somewhat and used a canvas board 12 x 16in. I killed the white with a wet wash of Cadmium yellow with a touch of Phthalo Green, when dry I drew out my composition and used the same two colours plus Light Red, Burnt Umber and Prussian Blue, aiming to achieve some fairly dark areas to indicate the shadows. A fine splatter of dark acrylic was then added, although it probably wasn't necessary. I will no doubt have to give it another shot at a later date'
