I like this too.

You've learned already the great thing that makes watercolour work (or not work) - the use of really strong darks. You see so many watercolours which are so pale that you get the impression the artist was terrified of the medium - they're so tepid and pallid, they're almost annoying. It takes some a LONG time to understand the need for strong tonal contrast - and you've got there already!

When I started with watercolour a few months ago, this was among one of the first I did. Taken from life. I had been painting for about 3 weeks at this point, with no previous experience so was getting use to managing the colour.
