I think you have captured the essence of the piece perfectly. And by concentrating on the face we are able to clearly see the tear which is somewhat lost to the viewer when you are faced with the entirety of the original work. Very nicely done. Denise.

The Fallen Angel was painted in 1847 by Alexandre Cabanel. The face of Lucifer in this painting intrigues me. We know it's the devil. It looks sinister and evil yet the face is pitiful. I almost feel sorry for it. This is a quick study of the face in charcoal. The figure work in the full painting is just brilliant. I think I'd like to do a full study at some point. I can see the main eye is wrong but I'd get that right with a serious attempt and attention to detail.
