Very good Denise , great likeness.

A good likeness Denise. Well done.

Commented on the Forum, where I said I recognized him instantly, and happy to repeat that here. An HB pencil is quite a useful drawing implement; of the two pencils I'd always want by me - as in, they can do just about anything - one is the Mars Lumograph 8B, the other is the Derwent Graphic Grade F sketching pencil. The two next most desirable are a carbon pencil, perhaps a B, and my lovely Staedtler Mars Technico, which I have in .... HB! Plus the special Staedtler sharpener for their clutch pencils. Provided with those, I am like a pig in the proverbial.... The great Adebanji likes ballpoint pens (convenient, good - in his hands - for sketching): but - I don't! I think they're horrible things, but quite what that goes to show I don't know.

Instantly recognisable Denise

I recognised him immediately from the gallery. Nice one. I recorded the program to watch later.

I couldn't resist a quick sketch of David Hockney during his interview with Melvyn Bragg on Sky Arts last night. Just a HB pencil to hand.
