Another Pierrot.

Comments

This is beautifully and sensitively sketched. Lovely work Denise.

Excellent work Denise it’s beautifully drawn.

That is very well drawn, Denise! Love the pose of the subject!!

Sad face! There’s always a sense of intrigue to a clown isn’t there.

Great work Denise the painting asks questions the viewer has to answer.

They always look troubled to me. Nice work Denise.

Many thanks for your comments Spencer, Paul, David, Tessa, Bryan and Lewis, yes, I agree with you Lewis.

I like these strange characters too

Love this one Denise, it's very atmospheric and the expression is "spot on". Great work!

Beautifully drawn, a great pose and expression.

Love the quirkiness and sensitivity with which you’ve painted this Denise.

Thanks very much Heather, Steven, Christine and Carole.

Who knows who lurks in the windmills of our minds?

I love this picture. This fantasy world to which characters like pierrot and harlequin belong. Its a magical world. Not without its shadows, but that makes it so wonderful. I love the paintings by Picasso on this subject. Yes I really love this picture. I have little sense of belonging and I would love to know such people as pierrot who himself is a kind of misfit.

Pierrot looks slightly lost. You can see it in his face. I can't tell you how perfectly painted that expression is. It completely conveys his mood but also his sense of self and his sense of his purpose in the world which to him is probably questionable. I see all these things in your picture. Also the room even though it doesn't look very big looks remote. That too adds to the lost expression in his face. I would compare this with several works by Picasso from his blue and rose periods.

The fact also that you've placed him slightly on one side emphasises the shadow cast by his figure and that carries alot of meaning. Its a master stroke.

...and another beautiful painting, Denise!

Thanks Linda and Manoj. Michael I am glad you like it and thank you for your lengthy input, it is very much appreciated.
