The tonal effect created is superb, as they say it's not what you paint, but what you don't paint that matters. The small highlights on the figures and boat and the road in the middle ground, leading you to the background. A beautiful, bright and sunny day.

Lovely. Apparently detailed and then you see there isn't. Just skillful applicatiuons of complimentary washes with some calligraphic marks at the end to pull it all together. Great stuf!

Just great. Out of interest what type of paints do you use?

Robert F - Oskar's answered that before, and I suspect the painting on which he did is still in his Gallery. That is, he divulged his palette, rather than the brand of paint, as I remember. And this is another great painting, full of atmosphere - as has been said above, you think it's full of details; in a way it is, but on closer inspection they're perfectly placed calligraphic marks.
