An experiment to see how flowers would look on raised pebbles glued into thick board, and was the first time I ever tried to paint flowers accurately from a photo. Quite pleased at the effect, but the 'tradescantia' looked the best; on analysis I had unwittingly used different tones of blue and purple for the petals, and fortuitously realised this gave the best effect, rather than sticking to one colour and shading with white and black. The board is very thick MDF, with recesses drilled out and sandpapered down; stones are held in with araldite and the holes finished off with wood filler.
