wow this is good too!!!

Glad you like it, unfortunately if you look close you will spot a few flaws; the picture was done over a 10-year period where it was frequently put away for several years! The trees on the right were done first, and the ones on the left were done 10 years later, and are not quite consistent with the style of the earlier ones. technically the depth of shading is too strong for the castle, it should be lighter at this distance. Another quirk (which cannot be seen from the scale on the internet) is that the shading was done by very dilute acrylic washes, and unfortunately as the painting is on canvas as opposed to card (which is what I would use now) so the wash has collected in the tiny troughs in the canvas, leaving the 'peaks' lighter, so the whole castle, on close inspection, looks like it is made from wool rather than stone ! Lesson learned: Only use washes on flat card :-)

Dont care its still just wow and wow!!!!! I have found my work with acrylics and the over painting and washes i do, for me is better on acrylic paper it takes a lot of punishment! Linda

An first, early experiment in rendering realistic clouds and to try painting trees in the way an illustrator might do it, as opposed to a fine art rendition.
