sunset on Oregon coast, near Seal Rock
a Watercolor sketch, practice on hot press paper. I have been wanting to try this scene, from the moment I was there. That intense sun going down behind an object and shooting its rays thru....how do you capture it in paint? I dont' think I have yet....this is my first attempt....I think I might like the smooth paper. It shows every brush stroke, but you can lift pretty easy, some areas....the rocks have too similar of a pointy top, although they look a lot like this in person....neeed to change them some, and birds! they are there....I have not added them yet....thanks for looking. All criticism and suggestions for future work on this type of scene is so appreciated.
