A nice peaceful scene Murray, with the well painted church well placed and the 'field of gold' leading the the eye to it.

Beautiful rich oil painting Murray, love the composition and palette. This is the first time I've seen your gallery and there are some super paintings. Just off to have another look!

This is a beauty Murray - will take a look at your gallery

I agree with all the above, beautiful painting Murray

All the better because I know the area - do you prefer Artisan to regular oil, I wonder, or have you been driven to them because of the fumes of the 'real thing'? I love the strong colour in this, and the quite intimate setting.

Thank you all for your kind comments! I turned to 'Artisan' when my wife became asthmatic in the mid nineties, Winsor and Newton launched 'Artisan' water mixable oils in 1998 and I have used them ever since and am now a W&N featured artist. Just as a point of interest 'Artisan' is the real thing, the only difference between 'Artisan' and traditional oils is that the geniuses at Winsor and Newton altered the molecular structure of the oils so that they would accept water molecules allowing the oil to break down in water, the pigments and oils are all otherwise exactly as would be found in traditional oil paint and once the water has evaporated you are left with Linseed or Safflower oil and pigment taking the same amount of time to dry as traditional oils. I have written a book 'Landscape Painting In 'Artisan' Water Mixable Oils' which will be available through murraysart.blogspot.com and my on-line shop at www.murrayince.com from around 20th January.
