A commission I took on with no idea how difficult I would find it. A very elderly gentleman happened to come across a card of mine and contacted me to paint a copy of a very old picture he was given by his father over 70 years ago. the picture I had was very faded and I believe the original painting was done in watercolor. I only paint in acrylic and didn't even think that it would look so different as a result. I don't mind saying that this painting haunted me for months, the colors where too bright, the faces where not right and so on. I really didn't like it, but it was all worth while when I finally convinced myself to stop playing around and present it to the new owner. he cried his heart out. I was quite shocked but I guess it meant so much to him, I could never understand. I felt so relieved that he didn't hate it that, I gave it to him for free. all's well that ends well. :)
