Brilliant.

Thank you Jim.

Good likeness.

Thank you David.

Brilliant. Just loved him in Dad's Army.

You've caught his expression just right. I used to watch this with my Dad on Friday evening.

Brilliant likeness Philip, used to love this programme😁

Excellent portrait Philip

You've caught the pompous old wotsit - I refer to the character of course, not the actor, who was brilliant. As is your painting.

Thank you Sandra, Janet, Margaret, Rachel and Robert. It is still a brilliant programme, and every time I watch it I see new nuances in the relationships of the characters, not least the uneasy bond between Captain Mainwaring and Sergeant Wilson. Some of the implied information about the lesser characters is wonderful. Elizabeth Mainwaring, never even seen, but we know enough. Even Sergeant Wilson's affair with Mavis Pike is only ever gently portraid. Hopefully my picture does some of this justice. Who would you like to see next? Don't tell him Pike!

I love all your work Philip. Splendid.

Thank you Michael.

Watercolour on a half imperial sheet of Saunders 200lb NOT. Three pips, and the enormous weight of expectation of the good burghers of Walmington-on-Sea are not the only things on this man's shoulders, if his Number two, Sergeant Wilson, is to be believed. "There is also a large chip!" Thank you Wilson.
