Yep, just my sort of scene and you nailed it. Have you tried the Django festival in his birthplace? Great sketching there too.

Should have said at Samois-sur-Seine

Combined my two loves, watercolour and the Blues, super work Phillip.

Laid back and lovely - great stuff.

Praise indeed. Thanks Kim. Thanks to all those taking the time to comment. Most of my work includes my passions, which I'm afraid are Traditional jazz, traditional pubs, traditional cask conditioned ale, Southampton Football Club, preferably in traditional red and white striped shirts, single malt Whisky, dogs, particularly springer spaniels, a traditional breed, and a traditional approach to water colour painting.

Nothing wrong with any of that. Bet you was choked to leave while listening to Django's music. Nice painting.

Lovely watercolour wash - just my cup-of-tea!

Watercolour on quarter Imperial Saunders 200lb NOT. We found this trio playing St James Infirmary Blues on the streets of Collieure, in the style of Django Rheinhardt. Unfortumnately we had to go and get the little train before we could listen to too much more, so no time for sketching. This taken from a photo and worked up in the studio upon return.
