lovely light on the water

The light the sky the whole composition is smashing. Very well done.

love the light.................full of drama

Beautiful, great sensitivity and perfect use of tone colour and composition. I don't think anyone could do better!

I'm sitting in my study in my house in Kilcreggan, Scotland. The view from my window looks across the Clyde Estuary to Gourock on the south bank of the River Clyde. A few miles further south is the coastal town of Largs! famous for its Italian ice cream parlour amongst other things including sailing, sand and sea. Perhaps not quite as hot as your Largs but occassionally every bit as sunny! Anyway, great painting, lovely sense of distance and sunlight glinting on the water. Interested to know why/if you prefer acrylics to oils?

Thank you for your comments everyone. Derek.. I only realised a few years ago that there was more than one Largs! It is more of a beachside suburb here rather than a town. I prefer acrylics on a few point. Qucker drying - I can finish a work in a day and have it in a show a few days later. No smell to speak of and it is easy to slap on with big brushes.

My jaw just dropped. Wonderful work.

100x100cm acrylic on canvas. Largs is just about the northern extremity of the 25km of Adealaide's metropolitan beaches. It's also home to a yacht racing club. www.theartofbarr.com
