I have always for some reason had a fascination with boats and I did this painting from a calendar photograph that just oozed atmosphere. Nearly made the ultimate mistake by having the horizon on one side of the boat different from the other side. Mixed feelings when I see the painting now is that I gave the original to a work colleague on his retirement and he has since died. I do know that he enjoyed looking at the picture in his holiday home on the coast.
