This was well outside comfort zone and a lot of wet on wash infusion of colour to try to get the body bone structure reasonable as well as remembering to get some degree of light and shade across the painting. The nose was a nightmare and nearly gave up! The painting was done for my friend Helen on her 50th birthday. She lost her husband to cancer last year and soon after her dog died as well. This dog is her replacement 'Dot' and is a loyal friend.
