A painting of contrasts. A big and open sky with volume clouds combined with a landscape full of depth and detail! Perhaps I should have been more loose and just gone for some comprehensive general interest rather than try to reflect the complexity of the scene from the horizon forward to the foreground! Still enjoyed getting to know the area through putting together the woodlands and the fields etc. The escapism of painting for a friend who lives in the area and enjoys going on local walks.
