As soon as I spotted this I was interested. I’ve been there twice, marvellous! Yes, you have conveyed the heat, Mike, with your warm wash. I did something similar when I painted the huge old olive tree there, using predominantly red. It’s somewhere in my gallery, I’ll go and look, you might be interested.

I have tried to convey the warmth of the location with a background wash and then used black ink for the building and bushes. I hope that the shadows help to show the contours of the pillars while letting the background show through to warm the stone.
