This is wonderful. Brilliant composition and great drawing skills.

Very effect painting and the fade out to the left work really well.

I love it! fabulous....

Thank you very much, Dawn, Paul and Cheryl!

magnificent..., lovely positioning, and choice of what to paint and what to fade is very effective. I've seen this graphite, you are right, difficult to handle. But seeing this makes me want to try again.

Thanks, Jo! I wasn't too sure about this one but I feel better disposed towards it after your and the others' comments! I'm going to persevere with the water-soluble graphite. I've got it in pencil form, too.

Brilliant - love the composition as it has so much impact. Beautifully done.

Pen-and-wash study of a leopard's head. I like doing "macro" work in general! For this, I used something I picked up in New York a couple of months ago that I've not seen in the UK - water-soluble graphite. It's a bit different and I found it quite tricky to handle at first. I didn't find it behaved much like watercolour. Anyway, I sharpened up parts of the image with a drawing pen and then put layers of watercolour washes to finish it off.
