One of your happy villages again Michael! Lovely colours and that shady bit is really great, gives a good depth to the painting.

I do like it a lot. You always get such a sunny feel into your paintings making them look idyllic. Nice one, Michael.

I agree with the above comments, Michael. I really like it, also the other villages in your villages-portfolio. Beautiful watercolours!!!!!

Nice work Michael [ and not a gnome in sight!]

Your watercolour paintings always look so clean and fresh and this is no exception. Lovely!

Louise got there before me. I was going to say this is architecturally fresh and clean, what ever I meant by that!

The clean fresh look is what I like about watercolour - not a fan of multi layering - if it doesn't go down in one wash then it's usually a reject. I'm off out on Monday to visit more of the villages - running out of photos and sketches - so there's more yet to come. Might try a twig and wash of one of the village scenes - quite a while since I last did one in that style.

Lovely watercolour Michael

Very atmospheric. I was particularly taken by the descent of the street - seductive and hard to render. I was wondering whether a Morris Minor and a pipe-smoker or two might not have contributed to the general feel of the piece, but there again, it would have been in conflict with the loft-conversion on the right...!

Thanks Glennis and Kim. I agree with the point that perhaps some form of human life/habitation would help make the scene a little more 'lived in' - this is often the case with me but I get so carried away with the scene itself it usually only occurs to me when it's too late!

lovely work once again Michael, one of my favourites, lovely clean washes.

Absolutely beautiful, Michael! Love the jewel-like colors and the bright airy atmosphere.
