Beautiful and so much better without the parked cars.

Really like this one, better without the cars.

A lovely fresh looking painting Michael, cars would detract from the superb composition.

Perhaps a solitary Morris Minor...? You've done a great job on the period feeling Michael.

Love this one Michael, lovely light in the painting. I'm very new to painting and I can see I have a long way to go ! Peter

Thank you all - your encouragement is so...well encouraging! Peter - we were all beginners once so just keep at it - try to put some time by on a regular basis - don't just rely on once a week sessions as many do - paint a little each day if you can - and good luck.

I am glad you have left the cars out. It makes the scene look so much more tranquil. Also thank you Michael for the compliments on my last painting.

Super painting Michael! As always your village looks so fresh and tranquil with a gorgeous sunshine.

I think this is one of your best and I like the way you have handled the trees and the tone of the shadow on the road. Just one thought. The strong tonal contrast on the far houses, esp. the windows and the porch roofs,, bring them right into my eye and doesn't quite give me the idea of recession. The windows in the near house are much paler in tone.

but .... they magically disappeared! This is your best work Michael - really lovely. Gorgeous sky, great perspective, beautiful work on the buildings and trees.

I think this is one of your best as it has the perfect combination of a super composition and lovely light.

I really do appreciate all your comments - thanks all. Alan - i do agree with the points you make - although i was trying to focus attention on the point of interest. An academic point is that that the side roof on the nearest house should be darker than the front but for the sake of composition I did it the 'wrong' way round.

A really stunning piece, Michael, I always envy your sparkling washes. Beautifully done. Watercolor at its best.

They said it all much better than I ever could in English, Michael, and I agree with them 100%!

Thanks so much Seok and Mia

I also think this is one of your best in the Leicestershire Villages series. Stronger washes is the foliage adds to the tonal balance. I usually add a figure or two to give a little life but there is enough interest here without figures or cars.

So sunny! I love it! The work is amazing!!!

This road is usually full of parked cars as it was when I sketched the painting - but ......
