I think it's a lovely watercolour, a beautiful sky.

Well I think that's better than sort of OK - it's a lovely watercolour version of your earlier sketch, Michael. The sky is wonderful and I love the greens n the trees on the right. Beautiful!

Gorgeous rich tones Michael, it's more than okay.

I agree with the above comments, Michael. Although I liked the sketch very much. It is very different and I don't know which one I prefer! They are both stunning.

Reminds me of Edward Wesson's style whose work I admire very much. Fab!

Good sense of light here, as Jane says a great sky. Because it's from a sketch there is no labouring with detail, great work Michael.

Like the recession , and a great sky.

There's no new subject under the sun; it's what you do with them that matters; and I like what you've done with this one.

Thanks to you all - you are so kind - now I must have a go at the other sketch I posted of the other side of the same bridge - by then I will be all bridged out!

You have made a great painting from your sketch Michael.

That's a sky to die for, why do mine never turn out like that LOL

Hi Michael. Bridges, bridges everywhere! I like this a lot for al sorts of reasons; The counterpoint of he left-hand bridge support and fence against the tree; the shadow across the bridge; the range of bright and dark greens (but I'll bet you mixed thm all): Most of all, its simplicity. An excellent example of getting the colours on the paper and then leaving well alone - something I struggle with! Best wishes, Terry

Love the treework and the sky washes. I don't know this part of the country but I'm sure you have portrayed it nicely.

A lovely painting Michael.

Wonderfully fresh and sun filled scene. Your paintings are always so clean and transparent and your skies are super. That touch of burnt sienna (?) in the right hand trees is wonderful and adds so much warmth to the greens. I think this has translated really well from your sketches and hasn't lost any of the spontaneity that often happens when people tackle the 'proper' painting.

A fabulous piece, Michael, painted with your usual panache. The composition is superb, moving the viewer's eye into and around the painting.

Based on the sketch I posted a couple of days ago - Millers Bridge near Loughborough. Found a bit of time today and it turned out sort of OK - I know its a bit of an overdone subject but always good fun to do and what subjects having been tried before anyway.
