I do Michael! I have lots of pieces driftwood collected from our local beach and this is exactly the sort of thing I have in mind for them but haven't yet got around to doing. You have inspired me!

Ja, das ist gut........ I thought I'd add a continental touch...........

nice one Michael . great painting of the fish

Vielen dank Robert and thanks also to Christine and Alan - I'm quite into rustic art at the moment - there is something really down to earth and honest about it.

Did you prime the wood first? I think this is a brilliant idea, now where are you going to hang it?

Thanks Sylvia - yes the hardboard was already primed with emulsion but otherwise I wouldn't have bothered - it was an old off-cut. The brown which appears to show through was painted . I have open studio next weekend where I will display it but if it doesn't sell it will go in our conservatory against the brickwork where the photo was taken. Could, of course go in a kitchen or utility room or even a bathroom. Might even turn the conservatory into a sort of nautical theme as I have been making a few 'ornaments' of boats out of old bits of wood - all very rustic - I'll also have them in the studio for extra interest - might post a picture of them in the gallery sometime

Brilliant idea, fantastic painting Michael.

This is wonderful. I like the rustic and it works very well with the fish which by the way is a very nice painting.

Still learning my way around the use of acrylics - also have taken a like for rustic art - so here we are, an amalgamation of the two painted on hardboard. Must get some sisal string to and make it look more authentic. Hope you like it.
