Lovely painting Michael

Nice athmospheric street scene

Lovely loose and light filled painting. Great atmosphere. P.S.I have never stretched a piece of paper in my life - far too dull an activity and there really is no need if you use the right paper.

Super painting with lovely tonal contrasts

Thank you all for your kind comments. you have encouraged me to post more of my works Michael

Thank you for your comments re my Blakeney Marches. What like about this is the way you have handled the umbrellas and the darks underneath. Well done. The roofs as big one ti one multihue shapes also work well.

Just browsing your gallery, all great . I really like this with the cleverly drawn buildings and the sunlight you've portrayed.

Brest is a charming little town and this scene really appealed. A study on Bockingford 200lb rough, I really can't see the point in all the trouble stretching paper - why do people do it? . I stick to a relatively small pallette consisting mostly of earth colours. I do enjoy townscapes which are the subjects of most of my commissions but also enjoy landscapes and seascapes. More of my work can be seen on http://www.michaeledwardsartist.co.uk/ but I will post more of my work from time to time
