I like them Michael. I like the light behind and through. Is that textured surface? And were they empty?

I love how you have painted these Michael. Lots of lovely texture and hues.

Thanks Marjorie and Sarah. Two empty glass jars with little reflection in the low light of the cellar. No texture added other than the paint itself which I applied, scraped and reapplied to get the different hues to shine through. The rose colour is not quite so intense as in the photo but otherwise quite true photo of the painting.

I would hang this on my wall. I really like it Diana

Wonder what they had in them originally. Like the faded"old " look a sort of look back in time .

Thanks for your comments Dennis, Diana and Sylvia - much appreciaed

So modernist, so well! And are there any cartoons coming soon?

Ivan - yes must get my pen out - promise !

You were inspired Michael, this is a great image. Morandi-esque, but a lot more attractive!

Great texture

Real nice job Michael, great contrasting subtle light.

Appreciate your kind comments Sharon, Peter and Andre. Not my usual sort of style etc but good fun.

Beautiful palette Michael, love the subject.

Good subtle colour Michael..what I call a smart (as in classy) painting :)

Well that's different, so modern looking. Beautiful subtle colours and textures, more please.

Lovely mid tones in this one Michael. Great colours!

Great job! Very different from what you normally show. It's always nice to try out something else, especially something you felt compelled to do.

Thanks all - Carole Louise, Val, Jennifer and Gudren - I do appreciate all the support.

Well, I'm waiting for two cartoons then. I'll post a new cartoon once you post them.

Lovely modern feel in this one, Michael, and beautiful palette.

A smashing pair Michael, I love the blue greys, the textures and the shapes of those lovely bottles.

Good work
