boat arriving - swan (lohengrin)
im not sure if you can make it out but the boat is arriving on the right with a swan gliding through the currents from the left. the scene is loosely based on the legend of the swan knight although lohengrin was said to have arrived on a small vessel towed by the swan. im planning to make my future landscapes a scene from a story and will start to include more inhabitants albeit on a miniature scale compared with the scene itself. it adds abit more interest for the viewer and for me aswell as i paint them. i find placing just a single person in the scene gives something extra to the rendering of nature. the presence of humanity is something which i do like in landscape paintings.
