A little beauty Michael

Superb painting Michael, excellent colours.

Thankyou heather. I have to admit ive been in a troubled state since yesterday and again i feel the urge to stop painting. There's a sense of futility about it and I don't just mean in regard to the limitations of my ability but to the art of painting itself. For many years ive been a chronic over thinker and procrastinator. Constantly questioning why this? And why that? At the moment I feel more drawn to maths than art. The certainty of numbers which can be evaluated and concluded on. Easier I think to close and finalise than in my art which never seems good enough nor complete nor even mature in concept.

This is lovely Michael. I've just read your comment - and you shouldn't stop painting. For me creating art (and doing anything creative) is something I have to do, regardless of whether I think the output is good, bad or indifferent. It comes from the heart; which is why you shouldn't give up.

Thankyou bobbie that means alot. Very kind words my friend.

Michael it’s a fine painting, to stop would be to deny yourself a counterbalance to rigidity of maths , yes it’s a bit unpredictable painting, drawing etc , but that’s one of the positives about it .

About the Artist
Michael Hanrahan

I love art but it's very much up and down as I go about my day to day life as a painter and often I really struggle to paint therefore I fall out with it. You're only as good as your last painting as they say. My greatest love is music and I prefer to write classical music for orchestra than paint…
