I don't think you lose anything with a pale sky, as it focuses attention on your central subjects, which have a rich clean tone. Lovely as always. And thanks for your kind comments on my meagre offerings - always good to get the help I clearly need!

An excellent drawing with delicate washes- I love this technique as it's so close to drawing.

Very detailed and still very fresh. Well done, Mia.

I like your work Mia and I love the more colourful ones also , I had a rest from the site recently pushed away because of multiple postings and photos, manipulated or not I don't want to see them on Painters online, I know that a lot more artists are leaving the site for the same reason, a great pity, but if the powers that run the site want photos, then I shall have to dig out 50 odd years of family snaps and break the record for multiple postings , : ) I liked' Alans challenge' but agreed with the comment about the path. sorry to rant on ,

Super work, lovely composition. I like the shadow in the foreground and the touches of bright blue. Beautifully drawn as always.

Beautiful little buildings, a lovely painting.

Gorgeous, Mia! The buildings are just so expertly rendered. It's so beautifully pristine.

Easily recognizable as one of yours, and yet still different from your other work - which must mean you're getting it right! A very gentle painting, a combination of delicacy and strength.

be.autiful work

Sorry to be so late with my thanks. We went to visit our youngest daughter for a few days (living 200 km from here). I am very grateful to you all for taking the time to have a look at my work and ... post a comment. I appreciate this very much, especially because you are all artists yourself and it is a real boost to be commented positively by "professionals", I mean: people who know what they are talking about.

What a beautiful name for a farm. You have such a wonderful light touch with these washes. You say the sky only has a touch of blue- may I suggest then just a touch of that beautiful blue you have used on the barn to help tie it all together with the sky? This really is lovely. I wish I cold get mine as light as this.

Thank you for the tip, Diana. I will try that (if I am not too afraid to spoil the whole thing!!!). I always appreciate your comments.

Very well done Mia!! Ilike. Have you a website ?

Thank you very much, Alain. No, I have no personal website, but on the website of the calligraph Harrie Voet, you can see some of our collaboration-works: I made a drawing and on the same sheet of paper, he added a calligraphic text: "www.kalosgrafein.be" - galerie VI: kalligrafie in aquarellen. In one of my Blogs "Mia", I tell how we met and decided to work together.

Gorgeous farm buildings with your pen and wash skill Mia

After a lovely trip on the Bluebell Railway, we had a nice cup of tea at Heaven Farm (Danehill). This is again a pen and wash (my favourite technique!!). Sorry about the blue in the sky, it didn't show on the photograph but there was only a light suggestion of blue anyway!
