Simplicity

A very interesting combination; fascinated by the stylized calligraphy - which I don't recognize (not that I'm any expert,but I can usually recognize Chinese calligraphy) - what is it/what is it's meaning? I shall certainly visit your website. A very effective image.

Hallo Robert, thank you for your comment. I am very pleased that you enjoy it. The word is : "eenvoud" (Flemish for "simplicity"). Each character is posed below the previous one, but turned around a little bit. Can you see it? Since we started working together, Harrie moved from writing complete poems in calligraphy to adding just one word or a short proverbe to my drawing, as you can also see on "Amicus". We were more and more working in the style of "less is more" and with special attention to the negative space around the suject.

Mia, I have just looked into your gallery too. I am always amazed at your delicate pen drawings and calligraphy. This is my absolute favourite, I love oriental images.
