What a manificent painting. The sparkle on the water is terrific. Did you Glaze and what colours did you use

Absolutely fabulous. I'm green with envy of this one. Incredible portrayal of a choppy swell. My stomach's churning just looking at it. The light is incredible and the swirls in the water. The colours are absolutely perfect for a cold northern sea.

Have to add, I see lots of paintings on here that I like a lot but rarely have I seen one like this that I long to own. If I had the right setting for it I'd want to buy this one. I could look at it for hours and still see something different.

Simply beautiful

Thank you James. Yes, I did use glazes mixing the paint with liquin in the final stages. You'll be sorry you asked what colours I used but here goes! Perylene Black, Blue Black, Davey Grey, Charcoal, Indigo, Titanium White, Naples Yellow, Purple Madder and I mixed my own grey with Mars Violet, Indigo, Naples Yellow Light and Titanium White. ... as you can see most of the paint box! I've never been known for my limited palette! Hope this helps. Diana - What can I say but thanks so much for your kind words. It's very gratifying when a painting seems to 'hit the spot'. I'm exhibiting it in Newcastle until the 20th November so it'll be interesting to see what reaction it gets. I'll keep you posted. ... and finally, many thanks Patsy for your nice comment.

Sorry folks. I didn't realise the paragraphs I wrote would end up as one. There should be a space between James, Diana and Patsy. Something to remember for another time!

Absolutely stunning work. Quite takes my breath away. Also in awe of how much time and work went into this painting. Wish you every success with your exhibition.

Thanks so much Thea. Even though the paintings take quite some time to complete, I'm so completely immersed in them (if you'll excuse the pun!) time just passes me by. I think this series has been one of the most satisfying to paint.

Thank you Lesley for your nice comment.

Love these reflections paintings of yours Maureen, and this a particularly realistic one especially for the weather we get in this country!

I agree with all the above comments, this is a stunning representation of reflections on water and a great painting

Wow! It's all been said and I must agree.

Thanks, Jane. I'm really encouraged by everyone's comments.
