Excellent. I prefer oils to acrylics, but can never seem to get this intensity with them.

Thanks for your comments. Re Ian's remark about intensity of colour - I tend to build up the image in layer after layer of glazes and this certainly helps with the depth of colour achieved. I also use the best quality oil paint I can afford as I find the ratio of pigment to binder is a lot better.

Thanks again, Beverley. I was really pleased, for a change, about the way this painting turned out. The person who bought it sent me a photograph of where he'd hung it, which was really nice, as it's not usual to see where paintings end up unless you know the buyer.
