This looks like master and pupil Maureen. The little one is just waiting her chance to be able to play like the elder one - maybe one day. Having the two figures on black is very effective and really creates a mood. Very skillful painting.

Thanks so much for your comment, Marjorie. I really enjoy painting on black - makes the colours zing. As for the subject - I love seeing young children dressing up - this time it was stripey tights, a grey hoodie and then a pink tutu on top. What will be next I wonder. Next commission is a dog's head - again I'll be painting on linen with a black background.
