Very nice, calm and relaxing. Maybe about 1/3 in from the left side, an angler on the far bank? Or a couple of chlidren with 'tiddler-nets'? They won't need to be too detailed so long as it is obvious they are what they are :) Also some little darts of reflected light in the water at the fiocal point. This would bring the picture jumping to life! I think the far bank is a little central to the vertical sides, but that is easily remedied by pushing the water back, or if this is on paper, cropping out the bottom. Try an old mount over the picture, (Or make a paper-mount) and play about with it until you're happy. I wouldn't worry overly about accuracy. What counts is a nice picture, and this is a nice picture. This is really nice work, and I hope I've been helpful. John

Hi John, Thanks so much for your constructive comments. Especially with regards to adding some reflected light and the far bank. I will get back on the case and maybe do some smaller studies also. It is on canvas, but I will also try the mounting suggestion for some follow up pictures. You have helped a great deal and thank you again. Hope to post the new improved version soon!

Hi Mary...I rather like the elegant charm of this uncluttered scene [no boats, people, birds etc] but this is me the recluse all-over...agree about a little ripple or two...and I'm sure that the real work is good to look at too...

Hi Phil, thank you! I was trying to catch the simplicity of the surroundings, so glad you liked the remoteness of it. Might put a subversive Heron in among the reeds to add a little intrigue! Thanks again for your comments.

This is really lovely Mary, dont spoil it by putting too much in and losing the clean simplistic aspect, perhaps you could just put a small Dragonfly above the water!!

This was my first attempt with acrylics. I am not sure if it is finished just yet as I think it lacks a central focus area. But hopefully it is getting there. The pond is not far from my home in Essex so I can re-visit as often as I need so no excuses for inaccuracy!
