I have some great memories of time spent sketching and painting around Little Dalby and Great Dalby with the much missed David Weston so this was of paricular interest to me. A lovely study and good luck with the fundraising

You're doing something really worthwhile there, and adding to your collection of noted landmarks and churches at the same time. So I echo Michael's good wishes with the fundraising (and I hope they caught the thieves - or if they haven't, that they will).

Your work and the history about it is so very interesting, Martin. I agree with Robert and Michael. This is all so very lively and spontaneous!

The church is of Norman origin, built in the 11th century and rebuilt and restored in the mid 19th century. The church recently had major work done to repair the leading to the roof, with funds raised by local parishioners and a grant from English Heritage, only to have it stripped by thieves. I am delighted that this image will be used in various ways in a bid to help raise funds to repair the roof. Pen and ink wash, gouache and oil pastel on Bockingford paper. 15" x 11" www.cobbybrook.co.uk
