Another brooding presence - someone should commission you to illustrate Sheridan LeFanu's several gothic novels.

Love it Martin!

Farfield is a private residence that was built in the 1720s. It is located just off the road between Addingham and Bolton Bridge near Bolton Abbey, Yorkshire. As I child I remember being driven past this house many times - back then it was an old folks home - and it always seemed rather spooky and mysterious. I think it was making up stories and letting my childhood imagination run riot about this house that stirred my interest in historic buildings. We still pass the house on a regular basis on our trips up the Dales and it has long been my mission to paint a portrait at some point. Mixed media on Bockingford watercolour paper. 15" x 22"
