We visited this delightful 14th century timber-framed moated manor house on a glorious sunny day. The late spring flowers were a blaze of colour and the new leaves on the trees glowed with citrus colours. The place looked idyllic - in fact it almost looked too good to be true. The danger with painting somewhere like this is the temptation to descend into 'chocolate box' territory and end up with something very twee. I have tried hard to avoid this - I'll let you judge for yourselves how successful (or not) I have been! The property is in the care of the National Trust.
