It's very hard to keep Nature down, though tragically humanity keeps trying to destroy it. Did you use some ink with this one, or manage (somehow) to mix such a strong dark with watercolour alone?

A lovely watercolour Martin with excellent dark tones. I often drive past a huge tree near Oxford which blew down in a storm a few years ago, still lies there but grows a full show of leaves each year. Nature is indeed amazing thankfully.

This is very eye catching and those darks work SO well, very dramatic

A bit of simple charm that works nicely.

Love the striking contrasts in your painting Martin.

You’ve captured the scene so well. Great reflections.

Like this a lot.

This is a Wesson style watercolour. I walk past these tree trunks on a regular basis and I am surprised that they survive and grow leaves every year.
