Ffestiniog Railway morning steam

Comments

Really good painting Mark full of interest and nostalgia for railways of the past...

Superb layout painting for this old engine Mark! I like the outlay of the strong metalic colour values for the engine, it demonstrates the difference between the cabin and the steam fueled engine, and the swerve of the trucks behind fading out. This is consolidating into a great painting keep up the great work!

I really love the look of this.

Super Mark, just my kind of painting - lots of atmosphere and fabulous use of darks

Great atmospheric painting Mark, your tones are spot on.

Excellent work and painted so well.

So effective, dramatic light and shade.

Love this! I can smell it! I always feel steam engines are more like living beings and you convey that so well in this painting.

I really enjoy painting these old steam trains such interesting shapes. Thanks for all the comments here, much appreciated. Now I just need to do it again but much bigger.

Beautifully painted, wow

I love this Mark. The palette is really effective too

Lovely work Mark, like those rich, dark colours and tones.

Watercolour of David Lloyd George taking on coal and water on the Ffestiniog Railway. A quick watercolour to work out values for a bigger piece.
