Very beautiful work Marjorie, such a good composition.

Lovely painting Marjorie, I like the way you have caught the reflections in the bowl. It looks like "chopsticks" to me but I'm sure you will get some really original titles from the regulars on here.

Lovely, like Margaret I would ' chopsticks and Lanterns' Marjorie.

Lovely still life Marjorie. Clean and fresh.

Gorgeous Marjorie, I love the bowl with the chopsticks.

Great painting...nowt to eat.....reminds me of my wifes cooking.......we are the only house in yorkshire with a gravy knife !!! She made a soufle last week,it said seperate 2 eggs....so she put one in the front room.... I remember when she did a rhubarb pie,it was 12 inches long and an inch wide....

Thanks Peter....or should I say Les ( Dawson). Thanks too, Louise, Margaret, Carole , Linda and Val, for taking a look and commenting.

This is so stylish and beautiful Marjorie! Lovely painting.

Simply stylish Marjorie.....'oriental Lantern's'?

Well the bowl and chop sticks implies food from Asia and the cape gooseberry, Physalis Edulis, is edible but is native to the Americas and, in any event the plant shown here is Physalis Franchettii which is not grown as a food source - aw heck I'm losing myself - why not call it 'Going Hungry' Anyway it's a superb painting Marjorie.

Its the gentle colour that speaks to me Marjorie.

Many many thanks for all your lovely comments - Michael, you've confused me now, bringing the Americas into it! John, I know what you mean, I love subtle colours too ( think Morandi ). Yet the colour of these "Chinese lanterns" is beautiful and at the moment I can't resist them.

Evening Dennis - thanks very much.

"Chopsticks". I looked this very much when you posted the work in progress painting. But the finished work is just a delight.

Chopsticks for me. What time do you open...? (-:

Oil on board. It's finished bar a couple of tweaks which I can see. I replaced the cloth under the little bowl with some origami paper, the cloth was too clumsy. Any good ideas for a title?
