I do love the items and subjects you choose to paint Marjorie....and an example of how to exploit the use of neutrals to great effect.

Thankyou very much Fiona. This kind of subject either leaves you cold or ....otherwise. As I said on the Forum, I like the nuances of light and colour in a subject such as this.

This is wonderful Marjorie, you have mastered the oils very well.

Thankyou very much Cesare. This tea towel will never dry any dishes, it is one of my "props". So far, it has appeared in two Still Lifes.

Great composition and lovely 'props' Marjorie. Love how you've achieved a real 3D effect with the placing of shadows, I feel I could pick up that cutlery.

This is so clean and different Marjorie love the neutral colour look.

I like Still Life and this is an excellent one Marjorie

Thanks a lot Dennis and Christine, Carole and Russell.

Very good. Effective arrangement of items. I like blue and white ...

An inspired piece Marjorie and the silvery/pewtery finish on the cutlery is something else.

Like the composition and colours Marjorie, and those spoons are beautifully done.

Brilliant Marjorie! I love it, so simple but so effective.

Thankyou so much everyone.

Have you been rifling through our drawers Marjorie? This is such an honest painting, the depiction of the silverware is spot on, well done.

What a lovely painting those items make Marjorie. The metal effect of the cutlery is excellent.

Now I don't make a habit of rifling through other people's drawers, Fred! And thanks, too, Val.

At last I have found it. So much work goes up each day. That’s why I am a fan of having no more than two uploads a day. You have caught the tangiblity of the metal so well Marjorie. That is what makes this an excellent painting. That’s art when the artist encapsulates something beyond the the 2 dimensional frame and the materials used. Congratulations.

Thankyou very much for that John - it is also a few items down on " Latest news"

Oil on gessoed wood panel, Belle Arte from Jackson's. A trio of old family " bits". Lovely surface to work on.
