Again many thanks Dennis.

This has a familiar feel to it Malcolm, the half light, the bent trees and the peace....lovely!

Plenty of aerial perspective in this one-this is after John Blockley- it was in one of the first books I had on watercolour.

Thanks Fiona and thank you Malcolm for that info, I don't remember having that, but I do remember having traveled the area and that is why it appealed to me, thanks again.

Love the distant hills and detailed foreground Malcolm. Looks so peaceful.

Blockley'ish certainly but he would have been bolder with colours and marks. This is a smashing work however with the correct prespective

Thank you Derek, it was after one of his works, I could not remember who untill Malcolm enlightened me, I just knew I had been in that area which is why I painted it at the time, I understand your point, oh how I wish I could be as bold as he.

This is beautiful, Malcolm. I lived in Scotland for 25 years and this is so like it in its remote beauty. I watched' Local Hero' a few nights ago and this is just like the location in the film. Lovely!

A belated thank you Jennifer, I have just returned from a couple of weeks away, thank you for your lovley comments, a nice thing to return to looking forward to seeing all the new works.

I do like this Malcolm. This is the kind of stuff I want to start doing.

Thanks a lot Billy, just start small and give it a go

This painting is carrying on in my theme from my trips to the far north of Scotland, I cannot remember the exact location of this and did not write it down. But the scattered little communities I found up there really reminded me in some ways of the hill villages of the Karacoram in thier remotness, not to the same degree, but come winter they are often on thier own.

I have always loved the outdoors and have climbed and walked in various places in the world, after giving numerous slide shows and talks about my trips to raise money for charity, i realised the slides and photos did not do what i saw justice, so I decided to start trying to paint.
