Great work and keep the 'flag flying' Marilyn, you're not alone!

Thank you so much for your encouragement Russell!

You are brilliant at what you do Marilyn, we all have our own way of painting which makes art so interesting, if I could paint like you I wouldn't want to change it for anything 😀

I absolutely love your detailed work Marilyn as its my favourite style. I too cannot (and don't want to) work loosely so I'm in your corner! 😀😀 This portrait is superb!

Thank you so much Margaret, Linda and Maureen for your support.

Smashing portrait as always, Marilyn. You found your way in realism, Marilyn, but I experienced with Yupo paper that there is a compromise between you and the medium. With Yupo paper you must both accept that the medium dictate to you and you dictate the medium, and the results are often surprising.

I agree with what you say Cesare but if you look at the work of Meeta Dani and Anna Mason you will see that watercolour can be used to create a photorealistic image and that really means manipulating the medium to achieve that.

wonderful work Marilyn, love those glasses and the reflections. I also like the indirect pose to the side.

Great work. Don´t let the art establishment influence your style.

Under pressure from the “establishment” to paint loosely I am still flying the flag for detailed realism here. When your working area is restricted this is the only way. I dictate to the medium rather than let the medium dictate to me! End of rant.
