Super work and worth the late night!

Excellent painting Mike and beautifully painted.

Lush and green, I like it.

Tremendous skill using a match stick.

The land of the long white cloud can be very lush and green , Lewis, it can also get very dry in places as well during the summer period. Depends which climate system prevails. My thanks for the kind comments - adds to the enjoyment from doing the painting.

Really like this, Mike, great composition, and I especially like the foreground colours with that splash of white.

thanks for the comments Jenny , I used the "abstract" of the foreground colours to minimise the effect of the fence posts and the white to lead the eye in and up to the gap - well that was the intention !!

started with Indian ink and a title of "Stark contrast" A full tonal painting in Indian ink disappeared with my use of acrylic inks , topped with watercolour. This is the result. Not what was intended but hey , I have enjoyed my nights effort. Late to bed as a result and I still have to clean up.!!! and I used my trusty matchstick for everything except the watercolour.
